چکیده
BackgroundTreatment of primary osteoarthritis with glenoid dysplasia or Walch type C glenoids remains controversial. There is scant literature available on patient outcomes after anatomic shoulder arthroplasty in patients glenoids. The purpose this study was to evaluate the total (TSA) for dysplastic standard (nonaugmented) components compared TSA concentric wear and minimal erosion (Walch A1). We hypothesized that performed can reliably produce successful results at short- midterm follow-up.MethodsWe identified all who had a prospective registry collected from 2004 present time. Twenty-nine met inclusion criteria preoperative glenoid, treatment using components, minimum 2-year clinical follow-up. A matched cohort 58 A1 follow-up served as control group. American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, Single Assessment Numeric Evaluation (SANE), satisfaction, complications, revisions were evaluated both cohorts.ResultsThe mean 4.5 years (standard deviation, 2.6 years; range, 2-10 years). Failure of Anatomic Total Shoulder Arthroplasty with Revision to Another Anatomic Total Shoulder Arthroplasty
Background: While outcomes of primary anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA) are generally favorable, resultsafter revision procedures are less reliable. This study examines the functional outcomes, complications, and implantsurvival in patients who underwent revision of aTSA to aTSA.Methods: Patients who underwent revision aTSA were identified from 2008-2015. Demographic, clinical, surgic...
متن کاملComparison of outcomes using anatomic and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty.
UNLABELLED Worldwide, the usage of both anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty (aTSA) and reverse total shoulder arthro- plasty (rTSA) has increased significantly due, in part, to the predictability of acceptable outcomes achieved with each prosthesis type. This study quantifies outcomes using five different metrics and compares results using one platform total shoulder arthroplasty system that u...
متن کاملAnatomic stemless shoulder arthroplasty and related outcomes: a systematic review
BACKGROUND The latest generation of shoulder arthroplasty includes canal-sparing respectively stemless designs that have been developed to allow restoration of the glenohumeral center of rotation independently from the shaft, and to avoid stem-related complications. The stemless prosthesis design has also recently been introduced for use in reverse arthroplasty systems. METHODS We systematica...
متن کاملBilateral anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty versus reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
The results of anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty and reverse shoulder arthroplasty have previously been reported separately. Although the indications differ, scenarios exist in which a patient may have a total shoulder arthroplasty on 1 shoulder and a reverse shoulder arthroplasty on the contralateral shoulder.Between 1992 and 2009, twelve patients underwent bilateral sequential primary shou...
متن کاملAnatomic Shoulder Arthroplasty: Technical Considerations
Osteoarthritis of the shoulder is a common condition in the aging population, and it can have profound effects on patients' quality of life. The anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty is a well-described treatment modality resulting generally excellent outcomes. The objective of this review is to discuss the technical aspects of primary anatomic total shoulder arthroplasty, and to provide a frame...
